2009 Buttonwood M&G UNO Tournament Information ~ May 19 UPDATE
This year an M&G Championship UNO Tournament will be held in the tent on Saturday from 12 Noon to 4 PM.
No preregistration will be required, and there will be no "standard" time to begin play. After arriving at the tent, each entrant will simply fill out a scoresheet and sit down to play.
There will be 6 UNO decks provided by the coordinators, which will serve a maximum of 36 persons @ 6 tables at once. However, anyone is welcome to bring a deck along as a backup (please don't buy a new deck just for this purpose).
Players will compete in games having no less than 3 nor more than 6 players. If possible, bring one or two persons with you when you come. You may play in as few or as many games as you wish.
We will have multiple copies of the "SOC UNO Tourney Rules" available for review. We will keep things as simple as possible.
Each game will be played until one player reaches 300 points, or until 45 minutes have elapsed, or until 4 PM....whichever comes first.
To give everyone a chance at the "Championship", each competing player will be rated by his or her
average score. Thus a person playing only one game and achieving a score of 120 points would tie a person playing in 3 games whose cumulative scores were 360...and averaged 120.
Both Frank & Sharon will be playing at various times (making up minimum numbers for games, etc.), but their scores will not be counted in the competition.
Scores will be tallied and the tournament results announced at the Pot-Luck Supper!
