Great, pay attention in fire school, take good notes and i know we'll have the best fire at the community site. Good idea, thanks.

By the way. It's very cold and rainy here looking out over the North Sea in Aberdeen. Not a good place to plan a meet and greet. Make note.

Google, Yahoo and Mapquest give different versions of how to get to Nick's Lake, coming in from the East on Rt. 28. (including a scary one that says make a "U-turn" !!!

Can someone give me simple directions once we get near Old Forge?

Gee, good question guys. We will also be coming in from the east, so would appreciate any specific advice. For all the years the little lass and I have lived in NYS, neither of us has ever been to Old forge, let alone Nick's Lake!

See y'all in a week!

Google gave me the right directions coming from the east:

Driving directions to Bisby Rd, Old Forge, NY 13420 From Blue Mountain Lake

1. Head southwest on NY-28 S toward Hedges Rd 34.8 mi (into the village of Old Forge)

2. Turn left onto Gilbert St 0.1 mi

3. Turn right onto Park Ave 0.1 mi

4. Take the 1st left onto County/Joy Tract Rd Continue to follow Joy Tract Rd 0.8 mi

5. Turn left onto Bisby Rd

Watch for NYS DEC (Brown and Yellow) signs pointing to the park.

Thanks Steve !! I guess I was too specific. Just for fun, Google map destination-
Nicks Lake Campgrounds, 278 Bisby Rd, Old Forge, NY

I came up with directions to a different campground altogether !!

I did that. Google looks at Nicks Lake and sends you down to Long Island. Not where I want to end up.

I used Google maps and just used the Bisby Road address. Works fine.

BTW, The turn from the main drag (Route 2 in Old Forge is by the High School and the Post Office. It's a left hand turn for you and the street is nice and wide.

The hill up Joy Tract Road is lots of fun for those of us with the larger rigs.

Lorie and I will be making dutch oven beef stroganoff for the pot luck dinner. I tried the stroganoff recipe on Mike and Judy and they survived so I'm safe to treat the rest of you to it. Since I will be there MondayI will work on getting any rainy and cold weather out of the way before the rest of you arrive.

We'll bring Eddie's bologna and cheese curd from one of our local farms. These will make great appetizers. See everyone soon.

We're home, got here a little before noon, and of course, just a beautiful day. Also, a boringly uneventful trip, just the kind we like! We sure enjoyed the meet, rain or not, and had a great time. Thanks to all you folks who had a hand (or two!) in organizing it. I'm off to have a couple hot dogs, some left-over potato salad, then position the T-1550 for the winter.

This was how we looked Friday morning on our way out.

This is our 9# 7 1/2 month old puppy right after his bath before the dinner Saturday night. Man he was dirty. Isn't it amazing positions dogs get in?

Finally, after cleaning out today to get ready to winterize the camper, I snapped a shot of the inspection sticker in the back of the clothes closet.

Next are some repair pics, but that's another sub forum.
