Welcome to the SOC.....you will find that this forum is full of knowledgeable, helpful members. If you have any questions or concerns....this is the place to ask!
On a side note - please watch your trailer header...the 2499's have know frame issues where the header twists and cracks......hopefully I'm calling it the right name! I'm sure one of the guys will fill you in on all the details!!!!

yes, thank you. i read all of the pages on that it's pretty scary.
there does seem to be a fix for it thats a plus. thats why i decided to
go ahead with this one. regretfully i live a ways away from the dealer
so i have not had the time to go back and see what the production date is
on this unit, it really does not matter though i really like this unit and if there
was any major bending at this point i would have seen it on the "crawl under"inspection.

Well Wayne - as you can see in my signature....we own a 2499 and yes we had to have the header fixed.....brought it to a local welding shop and they fixed it....I do believe the pics are shown in the "many" pages you read thru!
What color interior did you get? The Tropical (I think that is what it is called) couch has a tendency to fray at the seam on the seat...I keep a blanket throw over it to hid the problem.....
We do love our 2499!!!!!

Hey Wayne.....
The affected 2499's were 2006 and 2007 models. Easiest way to tell, is to measure the height of the tongue beams. If it's less than 5 inches, it has potential problems.

Hi Gary,
Just clarifying for folks reading along as you are 1 year off with a typo. The issues started in the 2005 model year. And yes you are correct, in 2005 the A frame is 4" C channel in place of 5" C Channel on the 2004, 2003's etc. Another way to tell is the main frame rails. The 2005 redseign went from 5" C channel main frame rails to 6" wide I beam structure.
Thanks
John

Hi Wayne,
Welcome to SOC and congrats on your new couch! The T2499 is a very popular model. We had a 2004 T2499 before we upgraded to the T310SR. "I" had a really hard time separating with that camper however she has a good home now.
There is a lot of good info on the forum about upgrades and mods to the T2499 complete with pics.
And as you know... it can be loaded tongue heavy. Mine with all our "stuff" was 1,200# and went up higher if one filled the fresh tank. While everyone's "stuff" is different, be expecting a 1,000# "loaded" weight without much issue. It starts out around 765 to 800# "empty" with full LP and battery pending added options . The key is understanding this as the truck has to hold it up.
Best of luck to ya with your new camper.
John
