Keys in the lake!

Hi all! We have a 1999 Solaris Sunline T-2670 with only one set of keys, and we lost them in the lake! Does anyone know if there's a way to get our hands on replacement keys, using the serial # or something? It's got a sideways flat, flap latch locking door "knob" that takes to different keys. The only other thing we can think to do is break in through a window, take the whole door "knob" and locking mechanism off the door, and find a place that makes replacement keys from taking a mold of that. We're afraid everything won't go back together right if we do that, though. Welcome ane suggestions and/or feedback! And yes, once this mess is fixed, we WILL make MANY spares!

If you have the numbers that were on the keys themselves, you can order new ones that are pre-cut. Most Sunline keys were made by FIC. There are only 50 possible cuts for those keys. Go to THIS page and you can order new keys for your Sunny!

Also.... You can possibly get in through a storage compartment... Possibly under the bed, lift the bed up and get to the door..

It's worth a try!

If all your storage compartments are locked, any RV dealer could get you a 751 key. Either that, or you could just sacrifice a lock.. They are cheaper than a window!

Most likely it is a FIC key and there were 51 keycodes (300 to 350), they can be ordered online. Here is one place:
Key Blank, FIC Locks, FIC BLACK, Wholesale Key Blanks, RV and Camper Keys

and on this site:
Products

you will also find this:

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I lost my keys. How do I find my key code?
A: To find the key code to your lock, you will need to remove the lock from the door. This is easily done by removing the four screws from the inside handle of the lock assembly. There will be a label on the inner steel plate that will tell you the key code.

I have ordered from both links and delivery is usually under a week.

Hope this works for you.

I should also mention, the cylinder on these locks is much different than a home lock. Most locksmiths do not have blanks.

Yes, unless you changed them, all the storage doors will be the standard CH751 key, which are readily available at any RV dealer. That will also operate your fresh water fill door. Do you have a wide storage door under your bottom bunk? Maybe get that compartment open with a 751 key, empty all the stuff out, and send a small child in to push up the plywood/bunk cushion and crawl inside. The plywood should be hinged to the outside wall.

The CH751 key is not unique to Sunline. My brother has a Jayco and can open our storage doors with his key. If you haven't gotten in yet, you may be able to ask a neighbor if they have a key to open your storage door so you don't need to break your lock or damage your storage door.
