New Sunspot owner in Michigan

Hi All

Just purchased a 1979 Sunspot yesterday and thought it would be a good idea to drop in and learn a bit more about it.

Seems in good condition and towed nicely behind our Chevy Colorado. It has a few modifications and there are a few I would like to make as well as tidying it up cosmetically.

Its getting a tad chilly in Michigan now so over the winter I can make it a home away from home before its first outing next year. Wife and I are not lightweight so it might be an idea for us to find a matress top or something to help the original cushions. Nice thing is it looks like it might fit in our garage so if I need to work on it I can get out of the weather. (Havent told the wife yet!) Hopefully I can make some time Saturday to take some photos and download them for anyone who is interested in taking a look.

Look forward to getting to know some of you in the future

Regards

Welcome Dave! You won't find very many Sunspot owners on here; only one posts on a regular basis (Gaelen). However, if you haven't already, you'll find some Sunspot brochures under the files page of this website.

Where are you from in MI?

Jon

You can find a good mattress topper at Wally's World . DW and I both can spin the bathroom scales pretty good, so when we purchased the four inch topper, we were leery if it would hold up. I can vouch that it is a good product. If I remember correctly, it was @ $120.00 for a queen size topper.

Welcome to our family.

Thanks for the welcome

Hi all.

Just spent the weekend trying to get things organised and cleaned up a bit. Had a go at making curtains with a sewing machine but its not as easy as my Mum made it look years ago! Made a new table top as the original was an old warped piece of kitchen worktop. Looks like the table leg isnt the original so I either have to shorten it or find a shorter one. We live in Three Rivers Jon, which is about 15 miles from the Indiana border. Thanks for the mattress information Bobo and also for the welcome from Kathryn and Kathy and Leo. Will try and get some reasonable photos if the sun ever comes out while I am home.
Regards

Tried to download photos of the Sunspot but cannot get to create album. Have posted images to www.photobucket.com under the username davesplace17

Hi, Dave and Sherry...I'm that elusive 'other' Sunspot owner!
I've got a 1980, which had most of the interior redone and the entire kitchen gutted out by the previous owner. You can see pics of my Sunspot in my blog here:
http://gaelenscafe.blogspot.com/2007...-sun-spot.html

I've been absent for awhile...life intervened, as it sometimes does. Glad to meet another Sunspot owner!

My winter project is to rewire mine. However, right now it's 18 degrees and we've got 8" of snow with a nor'easter on the way...so, not THIS weekend!
