MollyT is an unknown quantity at this point
Thumbs up Molly- owner of a new old ‘78 21 TT

Hello! SO GOAD TO FIND YOU, SLC! Inherited this beauty from beloved grandparents. Hoping to restore and keep in use (sitting for 6 years in NY, moving to CT). 21’ with tongue (just over 16’). REALLY just getting started, old homes have been our zone. Curious if we can tow and back this beauty onto a level slab in the back corner of property for the work! Anyone pull theirs up any grassy knolls? Cheers.

Welcome MollyT,

Congrats on your new Sunny!

You mentioned getting the camper up a grassy knoll, I have had to do this from time to time. Four wheel drive and being down in low range does help not spin the truck tires if you have that option. For both up a steep hill or going down.

This also depends on the firmness of the sod and dampness. Soft grounds can make the trailer pull harder due to the tires sinking in more. And damp grass, makes the truck tires slip faster, especially up hill. Ideally the grass is not soft and the grass dry. I buried our 2003 K2500 Suburban in the front lawn one spring trying to back the camper in a turn around. What a mess... and this was on level ground...

Looking forward to seeing your camper upgrades. Consider making a post on your restore process.

John
