painting metal propane lines under camper

I'm painting the frame to our '03 camper. I'm using Rust-Oleum rusty metal primer and Rust-Oleum Professional oil-based paint after I thoroughly scrub and rinse. I thought about painting the metal pipe propane lines under the camper. Can I paint those propane lines and use the same primer and paint?

Use a brass brush to knock off the loose rust, and paint away. No different than painting hydraulic hardlines, Lube oil lines, HP air lines, etc. on a 75 year old Sub.

It's black iron pipe and quite thick paint away if you like either way it will long out last the camper by decades.

My thoughts, paint them. The threaded areas are the worst as the wall thickness at the threads is smaller. Odds are higher the thread area will rust through first. I did paint mine.

Black iron is oil treated so if you decide to paint it it really should be cleaned first how well the oil survived under a camper is questionable but it was oiled from new. I guess so it looked good in the store. Because I don't like to paint unless I can see it I'm not interested in painting some thing that will outlast me!
