Blow out the lines or......
We have two trips left before the end of our camping season, Thanksgiving weekend and New Years eve. (Yes, New Years Eve!) But it will begin freezing at night here in fairly short order. What do you think I should do, blow out the lines between trips, or fill with pink juice between trips? The pink stuff option would be a bit of a pain unless I just pour a little down the drains and use air in the pressure lines only.
So, blow out the lines or use the pink stuff.

I would say, drain the water heater, blow the lines out and pink down the drains. Don't forget the toilet riser and outside shower.

Folks...
Considering how much expense and trouble a freeze-related problem can cause, and.....
Considering how little time, effort and expense is really required, I do both.

Mark, that's such a good idea. Is the general storage kept at the same temp/humidity as the climate controlled storage?
I'd like to know how he got approval to build something like that. I'm sure the local gov't would like it because everything is hidden, but I'd think the DEQ would go crazy over something like this.

Jon, I saw several references in their web info that the general storage was also constant temp of 65 degrees and same humidity, but I don't think it had the lighting and other amenities.
It looks to me to be an old mine that was mined out and then converted/modified for use as a storage facility. Maybe a salt or coal mine? I don't think any permissions were needed to build it as it was already built, er dug, so to speak...
Neat idea. Their seasonal rate for a camper the size of mine was less than $200. Not a bad deal at all.

Steve,
I saw the general storage was at a constant temp and humidity level, but I never saw it say it was 65.

Sorry for the late reply but I am traveling for work---even after relocation to Paris.
I choose the climate-controlled just to be safe. I am sure the other location are OK too, but they have an "ambient" temperature (I believe) and I don't trust what some humidity would do.
That said, I am not sure how much worse it could then when I leave it all closed up in the middle of the summer, or in the early days of rainy spring.
As to its origin, I think its an active mine, salt I believe; and as they "shut down" the mining operations, they "open" a new storage section after some wall/ceiling treatment.
They are great people, and will pull it in, and out for me, when the season ends or starts.
