Need info on T-2363 nameplate
I would like to have a nameplate made to replace the one missing from my 1997 T-2363. This plate was originally to the left of the front entry door.
If you have a 1994 through 2005 T-2363, I would greatly appreciate the following measurements.
1. the platea. overall length
b. overall height
c. height of numbers
d. distance from edge of plate to engraved area
e. this may be a long shot (calipers would be needed) - the depth of the engraving
2. placement of plate a. distance from side of door frame
b. distance from top (or bottom) of door frame
I've been told that prior to 1994, the plates were screwed on (meaning they were wider/longer) and that the 2006 and 2007 were "Classic" models so they would be different also.
It would look like the attached picture except that it would say T-2363 instead of T-2670.
Thank you!

It can also be from a later 2007, as long as it does not have a carryover '06 plate with the "Classic" at the end. They went back to the '94-'05 style.
There's probably a few '94s out there that are screwed on, especially if it was an early Plant 1 build. I don't know if that plant ever put out any Solaris models for its last year though, so it may not be an issue.

What might work best is if someone has a 2363 is for them to put a piece of paper over the plate and then take a pencil, hold it on a good angle and rub it over the plate. This would give you what you need to have it reproduced.

Now that I think of it, I think they did try to use a new style of lettering for a few years in the early '00s, like the I think 2002 in the picture. Here's a sample of what it should look like roughly. I don't have an actual one to use, but this is made from a T-2653 plate.

Good idea, Kitty! If someone can make a pencil rubbing, PM me and I will give you my address.
I should be able to figure out placement by centering it above the RIVA decal.

Once you find the size, actually even mine may be the size, if you search for a company in your area that does engraving. What they are, mine are, is Gravoply plastic engraved tags. It comes in all kinds of colors, Sunline use the black top thin film over white. They engrave the letters and it grinds off the black leaving white letters.
This was the company we use to use New Hermes - Gravograph - Gravoply II
We made up name tags for the machines we use to build. I actually ran the engraver for years. New guy, young'ing out of college.... The new guy was always the one to start out doing the engraving....LOL
Then you use outdoor 3M double sided foam tape to mount. You can find this in stores now. I bought some can't remember where here a year or so ago. Maybe Lowes/Home depot or the hardware store.
Hope this helps
John
If you need I can go measure mine.

I took a pix of mine today. It measures 2 7/8 inches wide by 7/8 inches high. The plate itself is about .06 inches thick and the lettering depth is .012 inches. Sorry I didn't get the letter height but maybe you can get it from the tape measure in the picture. Tape is upside down because I held it with one hand and camera in other hand. The tape was against the door frame so the pix shows the distance from the outside edge of the door frame. Nameplate is on the first wide band of siding above the RVIA seal. Note that the white border is a beveled edge around the nameplate.
This is a link to the picture http://i43.tinypic.com/15dmkx2.jpg
(I can email you the full size picture if needed)

John, thanks for info on the foam tape. I probably would have just tried to use regular double sided taped like that that comes with the plastic window insulating kits.
Gene, thanks for the picture. I didn't realize the plate was textured or beveled. The thickness of plate and depth of engraving are very helpful. I can resize your picture to figure the size of numbers and spacing between them, but you have a 2002, so I'm wondering if this is the new font Jon said Sunline used - it is the same as the picture he posted above and may be different than the original 1997. I'd really like to duplicate the original if possible.
I saw a listing for a 1997 T-2363 that still had the plate on it. I called them hoping that maybe they would send me a pic (or someone nearby would be willing to get one for me) but when they answered and I told them I was calling in reference to the stock # listed, they said it was sold before I had a chance to ask anything about it.

Here's the one from my '94 2363. Unfortunately, it's the only picture I have and it's blurry, which is why I hadn't posted it before. But it does show the difference.
Here's mine on the 286SR. Yes, it is textured...got some wax in there and haven't been able to get it out!:
Here's the original for the '97 2653 plate that I used to make that image in the above post. I think I found this picture in the albums here, and the date on the picture (cropped now) is 7/19/11:
Now that I look at it too, it seems like the older ones didn't have a bevel on the edge like the newer ones do.
And in looking at the plate from my '98 270SR, while it may have been different for the SR's, maybe the type change happened for 1998? So then the picture would need to come from a '94-'97:

Thanks, Jon. So now, from the '97 T-2653, I know the plate isn't beveled - that should make it easier to reproduce and the font. Also, the engraving starts farther in from the edge than the 2002. By measuring the wide ridge of the siding, I should be able it find the overall size of the plate, then the size/spacing of the numbers.
