2023 - First campout of the season

Anyone make it out camping yet? Or do you have plans for your first campout of the season?

Last week we made it out for the first time for 3 nights mid-week. The weather here in central Ohio was perfect, mid 70's during the day, cooler at night, but dry, and the camp was dry from the few warmer days before. The weather is all over the map; today, it was 83 F, but we had a frost advisory two days ago This weekend it is back to raining and colder.

We went to Delaware State Park, a very close park for us, but it was great to get back out there in the camper.

A few pics from the trip.

Campsite 137

And one of my favorite campout things to do, cooking breakfast. Fresh coffee, fresh air, and apple cinnamon pancakes. Yum! Come on over!

Hearing from some club members about their plans for the first season outing would be great.

Happy camping.

John

Hi Mike,

I see you have a new truck. . Very nice.

The weather is wet and cold here too. Sure glad we snuck out when we could.

I hope you can get out soon.

John

Wow, that looks great - we’re jealous! Unfortunately, my 91–year-old mother is in ill health and I’m caring for her so we haven’t even been able to “summerize” the 2363 yet. Looks like it might be sitting for awhile before we can get out. Guess we’ll have to live vicariously through all of you!

Matthew & Lisa, Thanks

We were lucky we hit that patch of great weather. We are in the low 40's today, with snow mixed in overnight. Come the weekend, this cold and wet weather is supposed to break free with some warmth coming. The last few days have been downright rotten...

We hope for a speedy recovery for your mom. We will pray for your family and keep you in our thoughts.

John

Hey John,
Just touching base to say hello. Heading out next week in the SOB () for our annual (38 years) trip to Cherrystone Campground, now called Sun Outdoors Cape Charles. Going to celebrate my wife's upcoming May 31 retirement. Hoping to do more spur of the moment camping now. I just referred a new Sunline owner from the RV Repair site to the group. Hope he joins. Have fun. Stay healthy.

Hi John,
Everything looked intact exiting a mild winter for us. We pulled the cover and flushed the water system a couple weeks ago. Then we spent a few days tweaking and light cleaning with a cook out or two in between! Daytime temp at the Jersey Shore was in the high 60's, the nights dropped to the upper 40's!! The heater worked great!! Headed back down next week. Hopefully the strong breeze lays down a bit.

A safe & great season to all!!!!
