Need Advice

Happy Memorial Day!
We are being gifted a 1990 Sunline camper, and am completely new to this whole thing. We know it needs new tires, but don't have any idea of what to get. What information do I need from the current owner in order to buy tires? The camper is located about 4 hours from us, so we'd like to have tires ready to put on when we travel to pick it up.
Thank you!

Welcome. Someone will be along to provide you more information on your tires.

Congratulations on your new camper.

Get the size needed from the current owner. Goodyear has a trailer tire that’s supposed to be the best. Carlisle also makes a good trailer tire.

www.etrailer.com sells trailer tires already installed on trailer rims if they have your size and you want to go that route.

Welcome!

If you can provide the model number of your 1990 Sunline, we can tell you what the original size tire and load range was installed at the factory. If you want new wheels (rims), we can also help with that. Then you take the new tires on the new wheels and change them out when you get the camper.

If you have pictures that show the current wheels, you or we can see if the rust is starting to set in a little or a lot; if they are heavily rusted, that can help answer the question of whether to get new wheels and tires.

Good luck with your new Sunny!

John
