If it's the aluminum, Sunline put a seam in the aluminum above many of the doors, so maybe your putty tape is just showing through.

Jon,
This is the aluminum skin. There are two fractures, both vertical, one at each upper corner of the door frame. The left one is now about 2" and the right one is about 3.5". They are slowly growing at about 3/4" per year.
I will take a couple of pics tomorrow if the weather permits (getting some rain here today) - it's not pretty.

John,
Let me know if you decide to make them. I would be interested to see what the results are.

I guess I just assumed that eveyone had the same frame?! My frame is so stiff that when we had a tire changed while on the road, the guy came out with this monstrous floor jack and put it just in front of the axle where the jack is now bolted in. When he jacked up the tire, it lifted the entire side of the camper!
So I guess that the flex some of you others speak of isnt as bad on the newer models. Even though we got it in October of last year, it's still considered an '07. So maybe they went with bigger frames this year?
I'm sure Jon will tell me...LOL

Pat, my 2499 was made in September 2006 and it's considered a 2006. Apparently the breaking point for the next year model is/ was October. My trailer has the peaked side "fenders" and 6" I beam frame like the 2007's. I don't know what the strength factor of the 6" I beam frame is, but I thought that kanyonkitty's 2007 2499 has a split in the siding over the door as do the earlier C frame units.
On this basis, I doubt that there is any substantial difference in strength between the "C" frame and "I" frame. I could be wrong, however. I did sight down the bottom of the "I" frame and I can tell you that it is anything but straight. Anytime something as substantial as a "house" is built on a steel frame there is very likely to be some sag over a long run like a TT frame. Just my observation.

I hope you had a typo and your 2499 was built in Sept. '05. If it was built in '06, I'll be really confused. The model changeover was normally done in May or June, but '07 was an exception. I assume due to poor sales, they brought the Que out as an '07 model in February 2006 and the '07 model year started then. If it didn't start entirely then, they built Que's from February to May and the model year started in May.

Jon,
Yes I was off by a year! September 2005 is correct!
Sorry!
