Mylar shower door (SHUB)

having a problem with the SHUB shower door. It only retracts about half way. This is a brand new trailer. I can take it to the dealer but they are in Lockport NY and I am in Hudson MA. Would love to have a quick fix. Anyone have any ideas

Jim,

Here's a link to Newlines contact page: http://www.newlinebathroom.com/modul...act&file=index

You may want to try and contact them to see what they say.

We haven't had a problem with our shower door.

Hutch

I have noticed that if the trailer is not level (or close to it) the shower door has a tendancy to bind - but with a little persuision - it retracts.

On our first trip we concluded that that roll up Shub door if rolled up wet would be an outstanding place for nasty stuff to start growing. We keep ours extended and latched until it is dry, then roll it up. This just seemed like a sensible thing to do.

Our shower has a warning sticker stating that you should NOT leave it open as it will loose its flexibility

The "SHUB" has a built in squeege that removes the water from the mylar as the screen is retracted into the framework. The water drains into the shower pan. You don't want to travel with the screen in the open position. Should it become unlatched, it "WILL" retract with enuff force that it could break.

Mark,

Loose it's flexibility? H'mm I'm going to have to research this one.

We do not trust the internal squeegee. Had one to many stinky showers....

After showering, and before we get out, we use a small hand squeegee to wipe the door and all the walls, and then get out. Then we rag wipe down the entire shower to get all the water off the walls etc. Then we pull the screen closed again for the night. And once dried off, we open the door back up. So it is only out over night. But that is 6 to 8 hours.

We always have it closed for travel or else Kitty is right, you will rip it for sure eventually.

The last person showering gets to do the entire stall wipe down, but we both hand squeegee the door. Seems to always be me… . Wonder why??

We have had several times where we (me) forgot to over night air dry and the next campout, the stink is pretty bad. Like a hamper full of dirty socks.

Since we have been doing the wipe down and over night air dry, no problems.

What do you all do?

John
