Gvw decal?

Hi all! Has anyone replaced a faded, cracked or worn off GVW and spec decal? How does one get a replacement? Is there such a thing? I am repainting my Sunline trailer and the original decal is not legible and cracked badly. I'd love to get a replacement after the fresh paint is on. Thanks for any tips or thoughts.

I've not seen or heard of GVW decal being available. If anyone knows it would be Sunline fan or johnb.
Possibly a sign shop if you had all stats to be printed in.

I'm afraid to strip the rest of it off but honestly it's not worth trying to save during the painting process.

Can you still death it? If so cover it with clear weather proof tape.

I'm not sure how to get an official VIN tag remade which is the tag you are referring to which has the GVWR and other good info. The VIN tags are normally only issued by the manufacture as they are the official serial number used in states vehicle registrations.

A sign shop may be able to make a tag with info on it, short of the real VIN being on it. Not sure the official rules on VIN tags, just in Ohio, our BMV has to see the official VIN in person when you register it the first time requesting a title in your name on a used camper. They do not even trust another states signed over title to be right. They are wanting to make sure it is not a stolen camper.

Hope this helps

John

Have you thought about going to a custom sign shop where they do decals / pin-striping and other custom work? We have one of those type places in my town. It won’t be an exact duplicate of Sunline’s original but a good looking recreation that might allow you to put your own artistic spin on it. They design a lot of this kind of stuff on the computer first and then send it to a machine that makes it. Might be worth a few inquiries in your area.
