converter fan
Is it unusual to hear the fan run, in our 99 never heard it run (if it had a fan ). Read in our paper work that they up graded the converters what ever that means. Ed

When we have a load on the converter - such as many lights on etc - the fan does run in ours and i am able to clearly hear it --- turning a couple of lights off usually takes this away - so i have found!

Hi John it's a 2004 t-2363 Solaris Lite the converter is a American cs6000. It's not a problem sound like a dry shaft or a screeching you just hear that it is running. ED

Our original Sunline converter made a humming sound when running; it's replacement, an Intellipower 9135, is dead silent. Even when running the fan doesn't come on though I expect it might under full load on a really hot day.

I might be confusing people or I am totally confused I am assuming it is a fan running that is making the noise, now I know why precorguy said what he did, is the converter itself making the noise?? Ed

It's most likely the fan running. This is normal.

The cooling fan seems to run in my rig when the charging system is active too.

Ah yup, you got one. I had one....
This is what yours looks like inside
They are fans and they are not variable speed like the newer CS6000XL. If your 2004 was built a few months later you would of got the next generation converter that has no problems. My 2004 T310SR was built in Oct 2003 and it had the older style. My prior 2004 T2499 built in May of 2004 got the newer better one.
On mine the fans started to go, made one heck of a vibration and ranked up there with mixing concrete.
If your fans turn cement style, you can call American and buy new replacement fans or buy a whole new converter. Other then the fans and the breakers they no longer make the converter electronic parts for that vintage converter.
Hope this helps
John

John b Few years back I talked with you on the phone about buying your 2499. At that time we did not care for the kitchen floor plan and can't go bigger than a 24 because of where we keep it, even looked at other brands. Found this 2363 out around Harrisburg and it is also like new and yours was already sold. We love this unit and will learn to like the kitchen floor plan. Thanks for the help and the info. Ed
