Converter Fan

Hello everyone,
I've been out in the camper taking it out of hibernation. When I plugged the Que into a land line the converter fan came right on. Is this normal? I must admit I am electrically inept but I thought the fan came on to cool it off after use not immediately. Should I worry?
Thanks always for any help.

Lorie
