Southeast Meet & Greet
I thought I would check in to see if anyone was interested in trying to schedule a Southeast Meet & Greet. I would love to meet some of you in person.
If you are interested, please reply with your location and we can try to work something out which will be both interesting and as easy as possible for those involved. Any suggestions for meeting location and date would be helpful as well.
I hope to year from y'all soon!
Later,
David

We're in the Nashville TN area. Anywhere within 200 miles would be fine. Lebanon State Park is beautiful, clean and has water/electric hookups.

Hey all! We live in South Georgia, work in North Florida and camp anywhere we can afford to drive to.
We've already got a trip planned this July up to the Charlottesville, VA area with our camping group (NFLA) and that's our one LONG trip for the year.
The North Georgia area should be a good day's drive for most of us down here. Anyplace from Lookout Mountain (west) to Talulah Gorge (east) that has full hookups and would pass a family-friendly inspection would work for us.
Are we thinking about a summer-type rally or a cooler weather one?

Well, there are seven of us posting right here so I guess there is some interest.
We already have camping trips scheduled for mid-July, late October, mid-November and December (right B4 Christmas).
Did we ever get any consensus on the time of year we'd prefer to look at for a M&G down south? Do we want to aim for a late summer thing or a cooler weather fall M&G?

I somehow missed the recent posts here in the past few weeks. I would like to do something before it gets hot unless we go somewhere with water. I have a couple of suggestions for consideration.
Someone mentioned full hookups, which my DW would agree with. There is a park near Helen, GA that is real nice, though not the cheapest. Though they generally do not encourage clubs, I think a small group like ours would be OK. The place is called Creekwood. Amicolola and Unicoi (I think) are near by, as well as Helen. Not too far away is Lake Burton.
There is another park near there, but the name escapes me at the moment. I will have to check with DW, who of course has a mind like a steel trap.
As for family friendly, there is Trackrock. They also offer horse rides. They have some play areas for the kids.
I would be OK in many of the state parks, though they are harder to work with as far as reservations for groups.
We should decide soon and get some reservations in. We already have a long trip planned early April, so it would need to be mid/late April or May for me. Of course summer is ok as well.
Another option in central GA would be twin lakes, or twin pines, near Perry. OK - Actually it is Twin Oaks. They are very club friendly and I know we have at least a few members that are south of Atlanta and have trouble getting around Atlanta into the mountains on a short weekend. We could schedule to coincide with the state fair in the fall.
Another option might be Stone Mt. Full hookups and plenty to do. Some of their sites are not the best, but we have been there a couple of times and had a good time.

We thought about going to Perry for that, but March is a busy month for us and the wife is taking classes (trying to get into nursing school) so we have to pass.
Would have been easy, though... Perry is only a bit over 2 hours from home.
