2011 Buttonwood M&G Activities
It's time to start thinking about some activities for the M&G. I'm pretty sure that everyone would like to see the Kayak/Canoe trip again. If we could get a consensus on the day and time for the trip I'll go ahead and get it scheduled with the CG.
I'm also pretty certain that the traditional Potluck Supper will be making its return again this year.
The Chinese Auction that Kitty held last year was also a lot of fun, so if she is willing to coordinate that activity that would be great.
Tom (Hutch) brought up the idea of an ice cream social for Friday evening, I think that is a great idea...I mean who doesn't like ice cream.
Also, might the bike trip make a return to the schedule? The Uno Tourney? Sunday Bag Omelete breakfast? Any other ideas are welcome...voice your opinion.

Steve normally led the bike trip on sunday morning so that we could participate in the kayak trip saturday afternoon. We won't be able to stay sunday night this year, which means the bicycle trip isn't going to fit into the schedule for us. If there's someone else who is interested in leading that, it's up for grabs.
I think the ice cream social is a great idea. Friday night always needed something.
We like the kayak trip early enough in the day to avoid afternoon thunderstorms (11:00?)
If there's interest in the give and take table I'll do that again saturday after supper.
I guess we aren't having a silent auction since our organizer can't attend this year?

Happy Campers......
I have been under the impression that the tentative schedule included with the sign-in thread was already an official listing. As we indicated when we registered (last year), and as listed on that tentative schedule...Sharon & I will run the Uno Tourney again this year.
Or am I totally confused and we have to replan everything????????????

Lowell,
I'm planning on coordinating the Ice Cream Social on Friday night this year.
It'll be similar to the Pot-Luck dinner, that is, attendees interested in participating will be asked to bring something to share (ice cream, toppings, wipe cream, ice, etc.).
I'll be posting a sign-up for this event as we get closer - maybe Mid-May.
Hutch

I will bring a turkey fryer for Sunday morning bag omelets. Will organize if you wish. We could use at least 1 or 2 more turkey fryers.
Here are instructions:

Frank,
I'm just trying to make sure that all of the activities that members are interested in are covered. The schedule on the sign up page is tentative, mostly a mirror of last years schedule. Nothing is written in stone. Some activities may be added, rescheduled, or removed; depending on intrest. No need to replan anything at this time.
Jay & Rich,
Thank you for heading up the bag breakfast...I'll bring my fryer for you to use as you see fit.
I'm already looking forward to that ice cream Hutch!!!

2Wheelers and Tweety were chatting about the fact that there are alot of people who attend the Buttonwood M&G who don't spend much time on the SOC website. Because of that we thought it might be a good idea to have a suggestion box & survey at Buttonwood, so that those people could voice their ideas and thoughts, or even volunteer to run an activity. We'd be happy to head up this effort.

I think the Ice Cream Social sounds like fun. Yeah, I'm in! Do you think there is any chance that Buttonwood would supply the ice cream for us or at least sell it to us at their cost? It might be easier than bringing it from home.
