winterizing a 2007 sunline
Trying to find how to put anti freeze in the water pipes. I emptied the hot water but that's as far as I can do. I can't find the water pump. Help me please. Its getting cold in northern Michigan and I need to protect my trailer this winter

I had a 2007 #2753 and the water pump was under the couch ,there was a panel near the floor with screws in it gave you access to the water pump , or you could lift up couch and take the plywood loose and get to the pump ,still not easy to get to so I cut the water line coming out of fresh water tank and put in tee , when I winterized put hose on tee , put hose in antifreeze jug and used the water pump to pump antifreeze through trailer ,then pump has antifreeze in it to . just remember to buy pass hot water tank ,just drain it .

A model # would really help.
You'll want to check the back of water heater where the pipes enter the tank, if there is a pipe that goes between the hot and cold pipes and on an 07 there should be a valve on the bottom, then you have the optional bypass kit. By turning that valve in line with the pipe you won't have to put six gallons of antifreeze in the hot water tank.
When you find the pump, you may already have the tee and hose installed to pump antifreeze that dumplin referred to, as that also was an option on the 07s.
Search the threads for Winterizing as there are many posts, also You Tube is your friend.

If it gets too cold too fast, just bypass the HW heater after you drain it, then put three gallons of RV antifreeze in FW holding tank and pump it through the system making sure to open hot and cold faucets and toilet valves and wait for outflow to turn pink. Make sure to put some down all the drains to protect the plumbing traps. This is, IMHO, the fastest way.

How do you bypass the hot water heater in a 1985 T1550? Trying to winterize it and not sure how to. I know I need to put antifreeze in and I know how to hook up a hose to the pump and put the hose in the antifreeze container. But I keep reading about bypassing the hot water heater.

Jenny C
You may not have a bypass on your year ( but it can easily be added). It is one or two valves on the HW heater that, when flipped, connect the cold water inlet on the bottom with the hot water outlet on the top. When you pump the antifreeze through, it does not go into the HW heater. It goes through the bypass line and straight into the hot water lines. Open the hot faucets to winterize those lines before or after you do the cold lines. Bypass saves you from having to fill HW heater with 6+ gallons of anti freeze. Hope this helps.

It may have a hot water tank bypass valve similar to one of these photos to bypass hot water tank
