Where's everyone camping this year?

Boy this 70 degree weather really has given me the camping bug. We always like trying new places, and as people post about their trips it's fun to look up the areas online. So, where is everyone planning to camp this year? We're going to
Codorus State Park in York, PA
Rocky Gap State Park in Flintstone, MD for the Meet & Greet
Ohiopyle State Park in PA
Buttonwood for the Meet & Greet
Turkey Swamp County Park in NJ for a beach fling
Claytor Lake State Park in VA to visit the kids for a week
Beacon Hill in Lancaster for a race Steve is running
Fredericksburg, VA KOA for our youngest's wedding
Shenandoah River State Park to end the season
So, folks...give us some new ideas! Where are you going?

Pam,

Wow, you are way WAY ahead of us with the planning. We have the Rocky Gap meet n greet, the Buttonwood meet n Greet, and July 1 - 7 our diesel truck rally up in Tecumseh, MI.

Of course our planning is also being held up until we get the dually back and get the required "miles" on it before we can tow.

When are you going to Shenandoah River, I can see a "mini" Sunline Rally brewing with that location

Shenandoah River is at Thanksgiving. Our kids are getting a cabin and we're meeting them there. But we could be convinced to go there more than once in a season if a mini meet & greet would crop up

We are planning a repeat 10 day trip to "Bah Haba" in Maine.

We never get tired of Acadia NP and the little towns on Mount Desert Island.

So far -

Ledgewood RV Park in Lake George ( 40 minutes away from us) in May to figure out our systems

Clute in Watkins Glen on way to Buttonwood

Buttonwood for three nights

Hartwick Highlands in Cooperstown on way back from Buttonwood

In our backyard with the grandkids as often as we can

Lake St. Catherine State Park in VT (in our backyard almost!) for a few days as Tom can go to work from there

Halfmoon State Park in Hubbardton VT (again, not far) per request of the oldest grandchild as we tented there last year and she caught her first fish

Nick's Lake for the Meet and Greet in Sept.

well for the last 16 years ive camped on the lake george islands by boat or rogers rock campground in my holiday rambler. this will be the first year we have a seasonal site starting may 1 -october 15 at brookwood rv near rogers rock and ticonderoga, with our sunline....i chose this to stay near my family and friends i grew up with in rogers rock, but to have full hook ups and the ease of not having to set up. i figure this would be much easier with our 4 month old son and 2 siberian huskies, i prefer roughing it but i hope ill like this as well... still have to save a weekend for an island trip or two though, thats the best camping hands down.....but its only in a tent/boat so weather needs to cooperate.

Unfortunately, we don't have much on our agenda until fall BUT I sure am hoping to fill in a few more weekends during the summer. However with Leo's landscaping business and me working for the motel - it is rather hard getting away in the summer months.....

Memorial Day Weekend - 4 day long weekend. thursday - monday
June 24th- leave for our 3 day trip to relocate to South Carolina
June 26th - arrive at our temporary home (campground ) in SC and
begin the adventure of finding our new home !!! we are
living in the camper until we can find a house and close
on it.
August ?? - we are going to go camping in one of the beautiful State Campgrounds in SC for a "regular" camping vacation .

This is going to be an awesome Summer

We are so looking fwd to year round camping in a warmer climate !

We are camping at Hamanassett State Park Campground in CT on Fathers Day, Thinking of going to Bratll1eboro, Vt for Mothers Day and we are going to Pappoose Pond Resort in Maine at the end of June.

We Believe in a God who loves us and works wonders. I say that because our favourite camp spot is Henderson Beach State Park in FL. We have three weeks there starting April 29. The tricky part is we have bought a new to us home in Windsor ON. We have been in our BIG house for 38 years and if it does not sell real soon we will have to cancel our time in Florida...BOO HOO. So we are open to miracles since our lives here at the House On Cameron has been one for so long. Ourhouse

Looks like you just couldn't check on Shenandoah River without making some reservations! Well that's exciting! We're gonna be seeing Kitty and Gary at Thanksgiving!

We'll be getting off to a slow start this year. mdfiregal has another surgery scheduled for the first week in April to remove the two screws holding her tib/fib joint together. A couple of weeks in a boot and more PT. We'll be spending a few weekends at the Wilderness Presidential Resorts, outside Fredericksburg, VA, that we joined last year just before the fall (that broke the ankle, not the season). But, we are holding off other adventures till we know how she can handle the camper steps.

I hope she gets better quickly.... Good luck with the surgery! Been there, done that surgery.. They thought I was nuts, when I asked to keep the screws!

With thirteen screws, a seven-inch plate, and a two-inch plate to pick from, she'll be able to start her own hardware store!!!!

These two screws pretty much have to come out to regain full ankle function, the rest of the hardware staying or coming out depends on how much it bugs her. IF that comes out it won't be until 2013.
