humor department

Too bad we don't have a joke section or at least a section where we can tell the funny stories we encounter when we camp.

We like to camp in State or Provincial camp grounds, they're all well kept and seem to adhere to the same standards.

In the main washrooms where the showers are they have the showers that have that electric eye which provides xxx minutes of water. You have to run it twice before the warmer water flows. Then enjoy what little water pressure is given. I'm usually one of the first to shower, 5:30 to 6:30 am so the shower water is cold

Ok, shower is done now on the shaving etc. I leave the actual shower stall and next to it is another weeny stall with a slight bench, hooks for clothes and towel. That floor there is usually as wet as the main shower stall.
Ok, so I blame self for all the wet but there's hardly any room to move.

I start getting dressed...sorta. Ever tried to put your undies on and your big toes gets stuck where your leg goes through? Then you have that tendency to trip caused by your own imbalance?
Funny now, but frustrating at the time Grrrr

My wife just reminded me that I can pull that trick at home never mind the park showers.

JerrJ,

I agree with you in that there should be a funny section. I like humor, but I am always at a risk as who else does or doesn't. I never want to offend anyone, but sometimes just the sentence structure can take on more than one meaning.

when I was on a previous classic car forum we, too, would tell funny stories or jokes. Reminding everyone that it was/is a family forum any/all jokes had to be of a clean nature. Our moderators were online constantly and I was one of the moderators. While I entered my own series of jokes, we found very seldom where we had to edit or delete a joke in poor taste.

We used the same V-Bulletin that Sunline has so there were automatic filters in place. Even with that there would be suggestive humor which could produce some gray areas. Ya, it can be touchy. I think most of this crowd is responsible enough

So ... a skeleton walks into a bar and says to the bartender, "Gimme a beer and a mop." Budda-boom! Thanks folks, I'll be here all week. Try the veal.

Good grief, I think I created a monster....

So a horse walks in a bar, sits down and orders his drink.
The bartender asks the horse (ready?) " why the long face?"

Duck Hunters

A woman brought a very limp duck into a veterinary surgeon. As
she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his
stethoscope and listened to the bird's chest.
After a moment or two, the vet
shook his head and sadly said, "I'm sorry, your duck, Cuddles,
has passed away."
The distressed woman wailed,
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I am sure. Your duck is dead," replied
the vet..
"How can you be so sure?" she
protested. "I mean you haven't done any testing on him or anything. He might just be in a coma or
something."
The vet rolled his eyes, turned
around and left the room. He returned a few minutes later
with a black Labrador Retriever. As the duck's owner looked on
in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs, put his
front paws on the examination table and sniffed the duck from
top to bottom. He then looked up at the vet with sad eyes and
shook his head.
The vet patted the dog on the
head and took it out of the room. A few minutes later he
returned with a cat. The cat jumped on the table and also
delicately sniffed the bird from head to foot. The cat sat
back on its haunches, shook its head, meowed softly and
strolled out of the room.
The vet looked at the
woman and said, "I'm sorry, but as I said, this is most
definitely, 100% certifiably, a dead duck."
The vet turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys and
produced a bill, which he handed to the woman..
The duck's owner, still in shock, took the bill. "$150!" she
cried, "$150 just to tell me my duck is dead!"
The vet shrugged, "I'm sorry. If you had just taken my word for it,
the bill would have been $20, but with the Lab Report and the
Cat Scan, it's now $150."

I was a bar operator in the service. I love the sweet sound of the tat-tat-tat. I also didn't mind carrying it. As we said "reach out and touch someone" and "interlocking bands of steel"! I could write my name, dot my i's and cross my t' at 400 yds., no sweat!

Kathy,
Loved that one! LOL, literally and at work....oops!

A man went on a "hunting trip" for a week with his buddies. When he got home he complained to his wife that she had forgot to pack any underwear. She angrily stated that she ran out of room in his bag so she put them in his GUN CASE.
