One thing to remember about any LED light. A LED is a Light Emitting Diode. Any diode, in any circuit, is designed to work with current flowing in one direction only. A diode will only work in one direction and not the other. If you hook it up wrong then it just won't work AND there won't be any damage to your wiring or light. No sparks no issues. Try your wiring one way and if that doesn't work try it the other direction TADA ! The older Incandescent lights will work in either direction. If, on the other hand your LED won't work in either direction you most likely have a wiring issue an internal break somewhere.
If you have a simple volt meter, put it on the DC scale and probe both wires, then reverse the probes until you see a reading of 12 volts or there about. That only tells you that, yes, there is voltage in the one light circuit. If all your old lights were working before this project then you should not have any issues
