Accomplished A Few Things

Just an update on what I’ve been doing to my Satellite the last couple of weeks. Maybe it’ll not seem like much, but have worked as time permits.

First I replaced the rear roof vent as the old one had a small crack on the edge that surly wouldn’t have gotten any better.

Replaced the little “stud” that the shower hose connects to. All is well.

Next was a Deep Cycle RV Battery & Box & new clamps.
Kinda wish I’d got one of the AGM batteries, bit pricy for me.

Then a new ShurFlo 2.8 Gal Pump.

Filled fresh water tank checked for leaks, water heater filled.
Checked for leaks around water heater and all was well.

Flush in bathroom works well and no leaks.

Fired up water heater and in abt a half hr had hot water, but the flame in the burner was vry yellow, sooty and lazy acting.
I removed burner/shutter assembly and found only an extremely small web covering abt 1/3 of the tube ID.
I cleaned the tube full length and reassembled. Upon starting agn, I adjusted the shutter for a blue flame, and now the burner has a healthy normal rumble. Seems now I get hot water quicker and the burner shuts down quicker so I’m happy with all that.

Then turned my attention to the stove/oven, never could get the oven to work, spent a substantial amount of time with that.
Installed a brand new Magic Chef Range w/oven, checked vry carefully for leaks, fired it up & all is well.
I’m real please with the installation, looks original.

I’ve got a list of other things that I feel should be attended to, so guess I can keep busy for a spell.

Think first I'll cook something in the oven.
Later,
Ray

Ray,

Geesh, reading all that you did just wore me out thinking about it. Sounds like you made great progress on your "To Do" list.

WOW, you installed a complete whole new oven/cooktop. Hum, in all my years of camping, I've never used the oven. I always carried a small toaster oven that was easier to clean..

Sounds like you got your water heater all taken care of too !!!

WOW, good work! It adds great satisfaction fixing theses things when you are able to do it yourself.

If you can post us some pic of your handy work. We all learn from them and you.

Keep up the good work!

John

Hi Agn Everyone, I don't mind posting pic's of my various projects but most of the things I've done I consider basic maintance that most folks here have done themselves. I'll surly keep it in mind in the future.
Take Care,
Ray

Ray,

Don't worry about whether it's been done or posted before, post those pics. Ya never know when your pic might inspire another person to do a mod

And with winter fast upon us, any pics could be just the pick me up that some of us need. We love getting a "Sunline" fix
