In 2004, it cost $350 total. 3.5 hrs labor ($280) and $58 in parts, plus tax. If you call him, he can probably tell you the current cost. I also had to change to a double step to compensate for the extra height. That was a couple of hundred dollars as well. You can always just bring along a small step stool instead.

it was worth it to me. I was dragging the sidewalk every time I backed into my driveway. The flip increased my clearance by 3 inches. Adding the double step made getting in and out a breeze. My third Sunline had the lift, but no double step. I bought an aluminum adjustable step stool from Amazon. It worked well. My newest Sunline has the double step.

I have a 1999 T-1950. Back in April, I paid $505 for inspection, wheel bearing repack and an axle flip here near Harrisburg PA.
It would have cost a bit more, but I had bought the flip kit intending to do it myself. Don't recall what the kit cost, but I think it was less than $100.

That price is crazy. Parts are around $100. Labor is 3 hours or less. It seems like he just doesn't want to do it. Look around some more. Sorry for the bad tip.

No, though the added clearance would probably allow you to do that if you wish.
I detected no difference in handling after my flip--other than no more scraping on the dip in my driveway.

But do take note of j52wf's comment regarding the entry step. If you're young and/or in decent shape, the increased height is no big deal.
But if you're not, or will have small kids climbing in & out, you should plan on dealing with that.

We did the axle flip and suspension upgrade on our 2001 T2553 this Oct. It raised our trailer about 5 inches which made our one step entry a bit high. We're not youngsters so I set out to change the entry one step to a two step. First thing I ran into was step width. New 2 steps are 1-1/8 narrower. I cut old step out with a sawall leaving the old welded on side panels in place. That gave me a place to bolt on the steps. Of course having the new steps being narrower than old I made 3 spacers 2" x 3/8" x 12" out of flat stock. 2 spacers on 1 side a 1 spacer on other. Then bolted steps in with 8 grade bolts.
Steps are Hickory Springs Manual Pull-Out Steps - Double - 7" Drop/Rise - 24" Wide - Ridged Aluminum
