Hi Lewis

I'm one of those country boys too...

See this post, http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/ph...opic.php?t=179

It is actaully a "sticky" on top of this forum on how to post a pic on Sunline Club. 1 post up from your post right now... You missed it

The basics

1. First you have to have a photo hosting web site. Like Photo bucket or Web shots etc. They are free actaully. Just need to sign up for one. And it has to be setup to allow the public to view the picture.

2. Then you upload from your computer to the wbe photo hosting site.

3. Then you create a viewing link to it here from the Sunline forum when you make a post.

When your post is the posted here on Sunline Club the pic just views here but is stored on your photo site.

Good luck and let us know if you need more help

John

If you are using photo bucket, then select/copy the IMG photo link and paste it right into a SOC post. It will load all the posting commands.

If you are using some other photo server, you need may need to place the IMG commands before and after the Http picture address that ends in a .jpg generally.

The is at the end to close the command. Doi not leave any blanks or spaces.

Keep pic size down to no wider then 640 piexels or it will scroll the screen on us. And you do not need any more resolition then 50K. 50k file sizes work well and anyone on dialup can still see them in a shorter amount of time. If you use 100K plus pics it can eat up a lot of time to load them here in SOC.

Good luck

John

That 5th wheel hitch tongue is "unique".... Does it go to a gooseneck ball in the truck bed or is that an adapter that goes on the king pin area of the camper and creates/transforms the 5th wheel into ball coupler to hook onto a receiver tow ball making it a bumper pull?

This camper may be before the days of the so called modern day 5th wheel king pin bed hitch.

Cute camper and for sure would work with smaller PU's. We just saw a Scamper mini 5th wheel today in the campground. Single axle too. The Scamper is a 2 piece fiberglass shell. Top and bottom. Don’t know if there even still in business. The Casita looks like them. I tried finding Scamper on the web and could only find used ones for sale.

With the age of light weight and easy pull, this smaller 5th wheel may have present day appeal.

Thanks for sharing

John

Steve Collins is an unknown quantity at this point
John, the very early Sunline 5er's were gooseneck rather than fifth wheel hitch. What I never did find out is if it was a traditional gooseneck that is vertical or the angular one in the pic.

From the looks of the pic, that is not something that is connected to a regular fifth wheel pin. It more looks to be a single welded arm all the way up into the body of the trailer. I don't see any mechanism where the pin would be to connect an arm to the pin.

Jon may know for sure

The gooseneck

John B. The gooseneck on my camper is made in to the camper frame it self. and has a ball coupler. What I have is the ball mounted on to a plate mounted in to the the bed of my truck. When I purchasre a new truck I will put the hitch that attaches under the bed so htat I can hid the ball when I'm not towing the camper. I asume this was factory. Howerevr the stem on my unit has a couple of adjustment bolts to where the stem can be adjusted. Lewis.[img][/img]

Steve & John,

The FW's didn't all have goosenecks...it depended on the size of the coach. Up to about 23' they had goosenecks, then those longer than that had traditional FW king pins. Even one that I have no reason to doubt is a 1971 had a king pin.

Here's an '82 that I recently saw and got to take some pics of. The coupler is an arm coming down and has a ball coupler attached to the end with a latch on it...so I'd assume you'd have to get in the bed to latch it. I don't know what size ball this would be, but I assume 2 5/16 because we have one just like it on our boat trailer.

Here's the '71 FW:

I found the Scamp. http://www.scamptrailers.com/ Complete with mini 5th wheel and gooseneck hitch.

I finally got a rig pic posted myself.

Had to install software on new netbook (ACER 10.1), grab pic from wife's digital camera and get it online.

The 2499 is sitting in our side yard. One day we hope to have a covered spot for it...

David,

Rig looks good. As for the covered spot for it, check with TNT Carports, they are VERY reasonable, I have had 4 carports done by them. The 24 x 18 that the T-2499 used to sit under is now converted into an enclosed garage with rollup garage door and a side entry door. TNT will be making yet another trip to my house when we have the funds to have an RV Port installed over the T-320. It's not even really winter yet, and I cringe every day when I think about the trailer sitting out there uncovered.
