Allegany State Park site recommendations

Already thinking about where we want to go next year. We have always wanted to get to Allegany State Park NY and are looking for site recommendations. Four years ago we ran into a couple at Letchworth that camped at Allegany, I believe they said the Red House loop was what they preferred although I don't remember the specific sites they recommended. Looking on Reserve America it looks like the sites are all 15 amp, does anyone know if they have 30 amp? Usually make our reservations for the year in Feb or March as I have to plan my time off at Fire Dept. Now that we have a camper and can be mobile we are thinking of a week at Allegany and a week at Letchworth.

I loved Allegany State Park when I camped there ten years ago. I've always wanted to go back. We camped in one of the Red House loops, and really enjoyed our site. We were close to the lake, close to trails and close to Stoddard Creek where I could take the kids to see a beaver dam being built and to fish off of a little dock.

We didn't really worry about power (I was tent camping at the time). And we did have a limited selection of sites at the time because early that year they'd had some washout flooding of some of the higher and more primitive sites. However, the park is enormous, full of trails to explore, and had a wonderful wildlife natural history museum on site. And since it rained cats and dogs most of the days we were there, we went into town and visited the museum of the Six Nations. My nephews still talk about the stuffed black bear. Enjoy!
