Hi there, from Connecticut!

Hi there, I'm Bob and we just bit the bullet on a new (to us) 1983 Weekender 17' (model 1742).

Our last camper was a Coachmen "Class A" 322~QB, so this is going to be quite a culture shock for us.

Mrs. Bob has had a hankering to get back in the woods, after we sold the Class A to do house improvements. She's been lurking on all the usual resources to find something that will fill our needs and get the job done... Finally, one day on Market Place this camper comes up and it's reasonably priced and not too far away... (Of course, my first reaction was... What's wrong with it and why hasn't it been sold yet...?) Reasonable price and seeing a camper on the market for three days immediately gets my skepticism up in the days of Covid...

So, we went to look at it and this poor thing was sitting on the back of a storage lot for tractor trailers and it stunk! (Apparently, the last owner only used it for a place hang out and smoke cigarettes on rainy days - it had been gifted to him from a relative...)

Anyway, everything was there and it wasn't in too bad of condition, so I made an offer of $1400, and he said sure... so I put on the back of my SUV (with the windows open) and dragged it home...

Now, the work of discovery begins... I'm going to get on the roof to clean up the seams, vents and seals, then get into all the appliances to make sure they work and finally, I'll get under it, to check the running gear...
Once all that checks out, it will be a complete interior makeover... (I've already pulled out the cushion covers and curtains for laundering... And, is smells a little better already!)

I gotta say, this is the sturdiest little trailer, I have ever gotten involved with!
(Pictures will be coming, this one will be a start...)
