That is a neat one. I did not realize they actually sold them like that. And it has some neat features for the home freezer in my basement where I do not see it all the time.
For the camper I have done a similar thing just using a standard indoor/outdoor wireless thermometer. Never knew they sold such a thing made for the fridge. It was like $9 bucks from Walmart. In my case it gives a true reading of what is in the room as well. I use to have a hang on the shelf one inside thermometer, however you have to open the door all the time to see it , and let more cold out. The wireless is nice so you just pass by and look.
I also added a 2nd one since I liked this one so much. If is for outside. Amazing how much we actually use it. We winter camp as well and it comes in even better then. This one is a 2 remote unit plus inside temp. However I only have 1 remote on it and it displays in big numbers the outside temp with the inside in little size. This one was about $11 on clearance at Walmart.
Heads up to anyone following along. If you get 2 of these make sure they are either different or have a feature for 2 transmitters. Other wise 2 of the exact same ones will goof each other up as it does not know where the signal is coming from. Don’t ask me how I know….
And yes. Velcro does the trick for mounting. Just be care full not to Velcro over the little reset button some have on the back, or cut a hole in it to get to the button. And don’t ask me how I know this too….
Thanks for the link
John
