Valence Removal
Hi To All,
The information about the hitch was so greatly appreciated I am back to the watering trough.
I am trying to remove a window valence to relocate it and cannot see how it is attached to the wall.
Does anyone know how it is attached?
Thanks,
buck

Buck,
"IF" I remember correctly, you need to first remove the roller shade or day/night shade to gain access to the "L" brackets that are attaching the valance to the wall. You will have to remove the screws that attach the valance to the "L" brackets first, once you remove the valance you have access to the screws that hold the "L" brackets to the wall. Not very complicated, unless your shade gives you trouble when you are removing it.

That sounds right. Depending on the year, you may have brackets on the side as well, if they continue down the sides and there aren't just curtains.

Interesting, I've never tried, but mine appear to be attached by screws through the wall... IE, you'd have to remove the outside skin of the trailer to get to them. No sign of any fasteners from the inside...

Most valances should be attached thorugh the outside. 99% of everything that touches the wall is screwed in from the outside before the siding is installed. I never saw the inside of how they were made, they were assembled in another department and brought to us to install but I don't think that there would even be an easy way to disassemble it.

On my '99, if you remove the roll-up shade from its brackets, you can see small "L" brackets holding the valance in place. They used small wood screws. The vertical leg of the bracket is screwed into the wall through the luan and into a 2x2 stud. The horizontal part of the bracket is what the valence sits on and is held in place with just a couple of short screws.
You need a fairly long screwdriver to reach the screws and it's a bit of a contortion to find a position where you can look up into the valence and reach the screws.
None of the valences was screwed through from the outside on mine, but all the cabinetry and partitions are.

valance removal
Hi to all,
Thanks for all the help. I removed the mini blinds and the two L bracketts were staring me in the face.
Didn't have to remove from the wall, just unscrewd the four screws and slid the valance down and reinstalled the four screws, replaced the screws and all lined up. The worker at the factory must have ben having a bad day.
All you guys are great thanks again!!!!
Buck
