Back in the days when all gas stations had a free air hose there would be a crank to set the desired pressure. They would only crank up to 50# .... and gas was 25 cents a gallon. I have my own compressor now so I haven't been to a gas station for air in years.

While I've never had to use a compressor at a gas station, I can't imagine 65 vs. 50 would be a problem.

My experience has been that most gas station "pay" compressors are capped @ 32-36 psi, so the 50 vs. 65 is pretty much a mute point. Around our area finding a place with "free" air (also 50 to 65 psi) is slightly harder than finding the proverbial needle in a haystack!!!

The bigger issue may be that the heavier tire may ride rougher.

I went from the standard car tires on my Expedition to a set of LT tires. The heavier tire WILL ride harder. If you drive like a old man like I do then..... no problem.
