Solaris 2003 hot water heater

*
We have a 2003 solaris tt. Our hot water was working up until a few days ago when a valve blew. We can water pouring out of the camper. Hubby replaced it with a part he thought would work, but to find out later it was wrong so we got the new part and still no hot water. The heater goes on but only for a few minutes then we run the water and only get a few seconds of hot water. Cant figure out what's going on. It's an Atwood hot water heater GC6AA-9f

Thank you

Hi,

First off, welcome!

We will try and help, but we need some more to go on. Here are some things to tell us.

1. Does water flow out the hot water faucets, just not hot?

Your model is a combination model that can heat with electric or LP gas or both at the same time.

2. Try and see if both modes work. Which heating mode does not work, gas, electric or both?

3. Ask hubby what the name or description was the part that he feels is wrong, and what part number/brand did you replace it with?

4. When you said a valve blew, which valve? There is a LP gas valve and there is a safety relief valve. Both are very different.

5. Any chance you can post some pics of the parts or area that is giving you problems, or think are giving you problems? Try and take a pic of the heater outside of the camper with the heater door down, and a pic inside the camper at the back of the heater plus others of the parts you replaced. You have Rev 9 heater and that revision does not show up in my master water heater manual. Rev 8 and Rev 10 do show up. If this is the original from 2003, then I know which vintage you have. The pics will show this in case you are not the original owner.

Hope this helps

John
