Replacing Awning.

Hello.
I have a 2000 Sunline Solaris 26 '.
They awning needs replaced. I contacted a RV place and they said the price for they awning only would be $800. The hardware would be $500 dollars. Labor would be $500. The said I would have to buy the hardware also. At first they said they could just replace the awning. But now they said I have to get the whole thing. Do I have to buy the hardware? Is it hard to just replace the awning only.? Your thoughts and suggestions?
Thank you.
Gregory Morealli.

If your current hardware is functional, you should be able to just replace the fabric. Not horribly difficult if you have a helper. Working solo can be a bit challenging, but still very doable.

Hi Gregorym. My wife and I replaced (just the fabric) on our 16 ft awning (on our T-2075, 2007) by ourselves. I ordered the awning fabric off Amazon (brand new) for around 167.00 with free shipping. If you need to replace any components for the awning hardware you can find those too and purchase them separately or just pick them up from your local RV dealer stores (parts department). You tube videos will help. About a 3-hour job if you don't rush.

Hi Gregorym,

If just the awning material is bad, they sell awing fabric as replacements. You really do not need all new hardware for just a worn out fabric.

But we do not know what is wrong with your awning. You said

If you need parts other then the awning fabric, many times they are available too. If you can tell us the brand and model number/size of the awning you have now, and what parts you are missing, we can help you find the parts.

Pictures of missing parts go a long way in explaining your needs. Consider posting pics so we can see what you are up against.

Hope this helps

John
