What's the COG? Is is related to something from the Jetsons?
I would doubt a 951 could *safely* go on a short bed truck. Considering it's designed for a 8' bed with a foot overhang, I don't think it would be too stable. For a few hundred bucks, buy a small utility trailer and build a box for it to sit on.

Thanks. I remembered seeing something in the '75 brochure about torsion balancing, and there is something there, but the center of gravity isn't listed for each unit.
Here's what a similar sticker would look like for that coach. In '90, it would have been the long silver one, but it should have all the same info.

Kitty,
When I took mine from the jack stands to the dolly it leaned really heavy to the driver's side... propane storage, heater, fridge, sink, stove, electric center and water lines, etc. Looking at the floor plan of the 951 I'd guess the same. As far as front to back distribution it's fairly centered just forward of the rear axles on an 8' bed.
I think with the right engineering a welder could fabricate a 2" hitch adaptable support to 'V' upward as a platform for any area that hang over the end of a shortbed. My only concern would be the sway tie offs in the back. I looked around a little on the net and couldn't find anything sold in stores that anyone's used. It'd look a little different going down the road but as long as your weight specs were good... 'where there's a will, there's a way.'
Take care,
Jason

Depending on the length of the floor, and the COG marks on the side of the camper you can haul it on a short bed provided a couple of things.
1) can you leave the tailgate on andwill the tailgate support weight?
2) does the camper hang down below the bed of the truck or has lots of weight on the tail end?
If the first one is a yes and the second one is a yes, then you can't do it safely. The COG would be too far back for safe riding.
I know you can put a short bed TC on a longbed, but can't do the opposite without consequence.
Good Luck

Center of Gravity issue
The person that is interested in the camper for a short-bed truck might want to investigate an article/interview in truckcampermagazine.com. Go to the archives and find "Stinger Hitch Helper Carries The Load" posted on 10 Feb 08. It may be of some help.
My 1989 C-750 Runabout has a center of gravity sticker on each side of the camper body.
Hope this helps,
Brad (Elk River)
