Solaris 2553 hidden spaces
I have been wondering what lurks underneath certain areas of my new camper.
For instance the couch, or the one dinette bench. Sunlines are great for storage so I don't NEED the space, I am just curious....

Hi Mark,
I'm not sure what exactly is in those places on your unit, but I remember in the 2653 the furnace was under part of the couch. The rest of the space underneath could be used for storage. I believe your couch will pull up and out, which allows you to access that area.
As for the dinette bench, which one are you referring to? The one in the front of the trailer (facing rear) should have an access door on the outside. The other bench (facing forward) should have a drawer just inside the entry door, and another long drawer on the end, opposite the couch and Refer. If you don't have either the access door or drawers, pull off the bottom cushions (they are held on with Velcro) and the plywood covers should be on hinges to open up. If your 2553 has the front-facing bench that flips into the living room, then you probably don't have a flip up seat bottom there. I can't say I've seen a 2553 with that bench that I've inspected to that great of detail before. You may not think you will use those spots now, but just wait. I have stored extra thick blankets, etc., under the couch. Under the benches, I stored the dutch ovens and misc. outdoor stuff. The drawer right inside the entry door I've always used as a junk drawer for tools, awning stakes, etc. I guess some could use the storage compartment door leading to the bench storage for hitch equipment. I don't store mine in the trailer, so I never had that issue.
Jon

Under my couch is inaccessible. I know part of the furnace is there, and on the outside, my power cord goes into a little squared off section.
The dinette is indeed the one with the reversible bench. The drawer goes part way, but the rest??
I will check again, but I saw no hinges, and there is no drawer right inside the door, but that is exact space I am questioning.
I will remove the drawer and look in that way... ----sometimes I don't think it through enough!
Thanks

Hi Mark,
Your couch doesn't pull out into a bed?

Yes, the couch opens up, but I could not see any way to access underneath..
I checked this afternoon as we are stilll doing setup, and the furnace is under there, plus one vent. There is also one AC vent.

I'm still getting used to my new 2553 also. Mine has a lid under the sofa seat that lifts after removing a couple screws. The winterizing kit is located under the sofa.
