Missing part?

Hello again everyone! As I stated in my intro, I am very new to this and this will be the first of many questions, I believe!
The camper is a 1981 16RB. I assume the area in the pic is where some type of pump belongs, as there are water lines and a 120v connection.
Would this be for fresh water? If I hook up street water to the unit will it come out the open line? I did not see a shut off valve anywhere.
Thanks in advance, folks...what a great forum here!

Yes, that's where your 12V water pump goes.

I'm not sure if water would come out of the gray water line when connected to city water.

Depends on whether a check-valve is in place in the city water system. If not, you need to find the water line that would be the discharge line from where the pump should be. Find it and cap it, or install a pump.

Ok, great! Thank you! No plans on being self-contained. I may put the pump in eventually but if it isn't a necessary part at this time I have other issues to correct. Thanks!

You will need to cap the gray water line that is in your picture because when the water pump is in place it acts a check valve so your fresh water tank does not get filled when on city water. There is a check valve on your city water hook up so that when you are using your fresh water tank with the pump you aren't pushing water out the city water hook up and Welcome to the Club.
