Steve,

If you don't mind the expense, Eternabond seems to be a pretty permanent solution. I used it to repair my "short" rubber roof, but they also make it for aluminum. Cheapest place I found it was Bradco Supply, which I believe is in quite a few states.

And I want to see pictures of the Z28!

Sorry these are not pic's of roof (really) Looks as if it had some water damage in the right rear storage compartment. Nothing is wet or looks to be recent at all. should I do anything or just keep an eye on it? I'm a little nervous about my purchase I will post a pic of car next.

Sunline Fan is an unknown quantity at this point
Steve,

If you are down by Birch Run, stop in @ General. I've used a can of stuff called Dyco. You just brush it on with a paint brush. The part number is 20204. Tell the parts manager there that the Wixom store sent you.

I used this eternabond tape...it is expensive but It was easy and they claim I'll never have to do it again. I had multiple coats of multiple stuff sealing my roof (silicone, tar, dyco, etc.) I used a wire wheel on a drill and blasted it all off. Then cleaned the area with laquer thinner and slapped on the eternabond tape. I used the kind with the aluminum backing so I could paint the areas that came down the side a little. I just did it this spring so I don't have any time behind it, but it seems to be holding well so far.

Good luck!
