This post may help on the LP items to test for leaks.

If they have not been fired/used in lots of years, they may take some getting them going OR not. Mud daubers can create a mud nest in the outside areas. They can be taken apart and cleaned up and back working again in many cases.
There manuals for most of all the appliances on line. And some have service manuals.
If they have not been used in a real long time, I myself would check them out first for bees damage, rust etc before trying to fire them up on the units that have an outside access, Fridge, hot water heater and furnace.
On the cost, that is always a topic of what is too much and what is not. Here is a place to start as a guide.

If there are things that do not work, then less is to be expected. But that at least gets you in the ball park. Tires are a thing to look at. Age is the best thing to look for. There is a DOT date code you can see the mfg date. You are not looking for tread depth as a main indication but more cracks in the rubber and how old they are. Worst is, you need 5 new tires (there part is the 5th)
As long as there is no water damage or signs of prior water repairs, getting the appliances going may not be that bad. The fridge may be the most iffy. As long as the coil on the back is not ruptured, it stands a chance to come back to life. When leaks happens in the tubing it leaves yellowish reside some times. But if it has not been used in lot of years, I do not know if the yellowish film will still exist. Worst case, you can put a dorm fridge in. Many have.
Hope this helps
John
