All summer, I've been toying with the idea of welding some sort of structure on the back to support a bike rack. I've seen a few of these tongue mounted bike racks on campers lately and i came across a deal on one for $125. I haven't traveled with it, but it is surprisingly solid. Getting the front bike isn't bad, but the bike in the back (closest to the camper) is a little trickier, no doubt.

JohnB is on a distinguished road
As long as the truck, WD hitch and A frame can handle the extra weight, the bikes up front of the camper ride very well.

I made up a frame to hold my Swagmen bike tire holding rack on the A frame. It works the best of all the places I tried. I can put the rack in the truck for day trips too if needed. https://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f...10sr-9554.html

Please report back how the Jack it rack works. The main post welds and mount down by the tongue jack mounting area would be of concern in my mind.

Thanks for sharing

John

I don't love how close together the the jack posts are. That's clearly the weak point. We're camping this weekend and will be the trial run with it. It ought to be pretty clear right away if modifications need to be made. I figured for the price, even if I had to modifiy it, it was worth it. I like how yours mounts further back on the a-frame. Much more stable there.
