Light bulbs

I have a 2006 sunline T2499. The exterior lights on the sides have burned out. I can’t find any numbers on the bulbs anywhere. Anyone know the type and wattage recommended? I know too much may melt the cover. Sticking with the standard bulbs for now.

For your 2006 Sunline, the standard incandescent bulb for the outside fixtures would be a wedge base C922 bulb.

Take extra care not to crack them; Bargmen discontinued those fixtures are no longer made. When the fixture breaks, you have to buy an all-new fixture.

I upgraded my outside porch light to an LED bulb in the same original socket. I have had no issues with it being outside. If you're interested, please let me know, and I'll find out what I bought.

The wattage, OK, see here for a 922 bulb. https://www.bulbs.com/product/922B#:...2012.8%20volts.

At 12.8 VDC it draws 12.5 watts. Or 0.98 amps

The outside C922 bulbs have lower wattage than the inside ceiling fixture lights they are 921 wedge base bulbs that draw 18 watts or 1.4 amps.

Out of my head, I can't recall the range hood. But I will check and report back. It might take me until the end of the day to get it.

If you remove your old bulb, look at the number stamped on it. Unless it wore off, sometimes they get real light, and you can't read them.

Incandescent C922 is 12-13 watts.

An LED replacement for the 922 is way less, typically just 1-2 watts. Runs much cooler and doesn't have a delicate filament like the incandescent. I highly recommend you go that route. Just be aware that even though the base may fit, some of them have a larger body that may not fit your fixture. Check the overall dimensions before buying.

I checked a 2007, 2006, and 2004 Sunline using the same range hood. All had the 921 bulb in them; one had the C921. The C is a constant rating. The C and the plain 921 are the same size and wattage; the C rating I "think" gives a longer life in the constant duty cycle application. You may not find the longevity difference between the 921 and the C921 inside the camper short of doing a controlled experiment. Don't sweat it if you cannot find the C921 but can find the 921.

If you buy a 922 or C922, you can use it in the range hood in place of the 921. It just will not put out as much light.

Two tips on switching to LEDs,

1. Research the new terms used on LEDs; lumens, light spectrum, and base connection terms and what they mean. Find out what amount of light you want and if it is warm white or cool white. Personal preference comes into this. Also, look into the amount of heat and electrical noise certain brands make. This is harder to know or find out. The wrong brand with a cheap power circuit can create great havoc of electrical noise on a radio in the camper. Buy a few, and test them, make sure they give you what you want, then buy more.

2. When Sunline wired the camper, the incandescent light fixtures did not care so much about the polarity of the wires on the fixture. If you plug in a wedge-base incandescent light bulb in any direction, it will fit and work. Plugging in an LED with a directional down-showing pattern can only plug in one way: light shining down. I had to change the polarity of some ceiling lights (switch the black and white wire feeding two black wires on the light) to get the fixture to work on an LED. If the polarity is backward, it just will not light. About 20% of them, I had to switch on my T310SR.
