Waaayy too soon for us to commit, but we loved the river side as well and hope to make it back down to PA next year and would pick the spot next to you once again, if available.

Due to extended family plans we won't make it to Buttonwood in 2013. So site 67 is available. It's a large site with afternoon shade. We hope to make some of the small meet and greets to see the Sunline folks.

You don't want to wait too long. Sometime in the spring, they stop holding sites for us.

Yeah, if they have another big group interested in doing a rally on the same weekend, they get real antsy to open up the reservations to anyone or all groups.

Been looking at the maps for the campground. Do you camp on the north side of River Road, or the south side. I see the sites along the river, but i notice some of the sites on that side begin with a letter.

Generally yes, on the north side of River Road, but there's no reason why you can't stay on the river (south) side either- it's just a hike up to the group area. Some people have done this in the past and usually people who sign up late have no choice but to go down there. The upper area is easier for large groups.

The riverside sites have a letter because that was the old numbering system. Buttonwood started out as a small campground just on the north side of the road, and those sites are still there as seasonals. The riverside part was a separate campground, and rather run down. Buttonwood bought it in 2007/08, cleaned it up a little, and ran it as part of Buttonwood. They are doing some extensive renovations on it this winter to really clean it up and make it easier/more accommodating to transient campers vs. all seasonals. I understand they really opened it up last winter to give a great view of the river too, even though I haven't seen it personally.

When you call to make a reservation, just tell them you're with the Sunline group (on that June weekend of course). They may or may not give you a site number, but they will probably try to put you in the north section first unless you specifically request the riverside.
