Anyone have a good reason for the Sunline web site still being up and drunning and encouraging business and calls and all that good stuff?

Dead companies sure have a funny way of going away. They just can't bring themselves to cancel vendor contracts, etc? It seems to me someone is running up a bill here.

Personally I hope the web site does not go away. It has a lot of good info for us Sunliners on it. The articles are very good.

I think Sarah our moderator actually downloaded the site in case Sunline stopped posting so we could use it here if it ever went down.

AND I hope that it still being up and the phone still on, is a sign of hope.

Hope is a deal is still trying to be made and the site being up still attracts people. The new owner then already has new customers wanting to buy when ever they reopen. It is a cheap way to get new interest.

Us who own Sunlines are already sold. But new customers need something to see.

Every time I pop up that site, I still see a glimmer of hope.

Hope right now is about all we have. That and our collectors eddition campers.

Jon,

None of my links work. Let's hope it is a glitch but since it went away on the first of the month, I fear the worse............Marshall

I just tried and got "Internet Explorer can't display page at this time"

Really not a good sign.

I think it is gone.....10 months after closing....LaRue probably paid for a year subscription in August and now the time has come!

We should all be happy that we have this site to ask any and all questions and get the answers! What a blessing!

Hmmm...still seems to be gone this morning. Does anyone know what happened to that ebay sale of the Sunline intellectual property? Did it sell or just expire?

Unfortunately “sunlinerv.com” is registered and doesn't expire until 09-Jun-2010.

Info obtained via GoDaddy.com (enter the access code listed on right of page of link to view info).

However, you can purchase “sunlinerv.net” via GoDaddy.com and/or other extensions, such as .tv, .info, .biz, etc. So go purchase your web site name and start creating your SunlineRV web site.

That sunlinerv.info sounds like a good one for you Jon. Where everyone could go for info!

Does anyone know what the .info means? I guess I am showing off my stupidity by asking. I know at the college we have .edu, non-profits use .org, us government is .gov, and most common is .com. What are all these for, just classifications

I've been away for a little while and just got back to see the sad news. I am glad I downloaded a copy of the site earlier this year. Since the domain name is registered for a few more years, I would suspect the hosting company was only paid up until the end of August.

and the rest of the pages archived at the Wayback Machine:

No new news, but for those who want to hang on a bit longer, the pages are not poof! out into cyberspace...

Hope these work

Added these links and info to the OEM & Other Info Links Sticky post within the Sunline Community forum, so they are saved.

Thanks Marylyn for finding and posting them.

WOW. Thank you so very much. There is even stuff back off the older website on some of the older models. Back to at least 1999.

A big THANK YOU

John

I have a full copy of the SunlineRV.com website -- the last version before it was removed from the site. I can certainly post it to SunlineClub.com, but I am not sure if this is OK. What does everyone else think? Perhaps now that they are officially out of business, I don't need to worry about it.

And thanks Marilyn for the links! I will go ahead and make copies of all of the site listed there, as I have time.

Sarah

Sarah,

It depends if the 'entity' that owns the copyright material is still around. My guess is, since they are trying to sell the 'intellectual property' and it has not been that long, it still is. I know there is a time limit on this sort of thing, but I do not know what it is. My thought is better safe than sorry. I would hate for someone to claim that you were "making a profit" off of it!

Is there a way to make it accessable to members only? I think that would be the best plan. I'm all for it assuming no one will get in trouble. I would really like to know if the intellectual property is still for sale. Has anyone heard anything recently?

Jon
