This sucks, but I'm glad to have a job!
Talking to the boss yesterday, I found out that business is really good on the railroad. So good, in fact, that we may be going to a six-day work week.. That's going to really cut into summer camping! If I decide to take a Saturday off, I will have to use a vacation day.
I may not like it, but I am still very thankful to have a job!

Well with tax season coming to a close in a few weeks....I won't have a job....until July when the summer tourist season is in full swing in Old Forge, I'll work at one of the little motels here in town again, that job lasts until September and then out of work again until January!
What a vicious cycle!!!!

I'm in the same boat. Boss wants us to start working weekends to meet a deadline. But it's time to start prepping the trailer and start camping in about 2 weeks. I had to decline, even though it pissed him off. I'm not giving up camping because he failed to start the job on time.

Unfortunately, a lack of planning on their part usually means an emergency on our part..

We always told folks who tried to dump stuff like that on us,
"Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part!"

I could always come down on weekends and drive the train for you, just show me where the steering wheel is!

I get it. I'm planning to retire, but I need to stick for a little longer to do layoffs. Not something I like to do. Would rather be camping.

Oh darn, I guess it is a little more complicated than driving a truck.

As long as this doesn't interfere with the Buttonwood Meet & Greet!

Just north of Winchester. We were driving south and saw the train parked on our right around 9:30 a.m. (give or take 20 minutes)

That was probably CSX.. With their blue and yellow locomotives. I'm usually not in town that early. The engineer on that train is a good friend of mine.
