SUNLINE dealer in Anniston , AL ? Gone?
Hello,
Bought a SUNLINE (T2553) from Big Chief's RV's in Oxford, AL 36203, just outside of Anniston, AL. in 2006.
I need my spare tire wheel replaced ! They sold me a 6 lug wheel on my 5 lug wheel trailer . So the spare is useless.
Does anyone know if they are still in business or have a new name in the Alabama area of Anniston?

They still have a website, but that doesn't mean they're in business. Is your Sunline still on this page?

The wheels are about as generic as they come. An RV dealer may not be the cheapest place to get one, but you might be able to convince them to take the otherwise useless one in trade and thus get a better price than mail order. Just be sure the tire matches the others too. I don't think Sunline used a 16" wheel, but if it's a 6 lug it could have a bigger tire.
Sunline used a 15x5 with a 4.5 bolt center on the 2553. Jon will likely be along and confirm that.

Yes, it should be, with a tire size of ST205/75/R15 LR C.
I did have a post in the FS forum, but I think I deleted it, that had the scoop about Big Chief's. A member here was wanting to go look at all the new inventory they have there, and he called and no one answered any of the phones. He then did some internet searching and found someone say they had closed down because of mis-management or something.

BIG CHIEF's RV
Henry , you are correct, they are OUT of BUSINESS. I called the Chamber of Commerce in Anniston and Oxford, AL and both said they are no longer in business.
We had a flat in Indiana camping trip and had to buy a new wheel. I was just hoping to get my $58.00 back from the purchase.
POMPS Tire Company saved the day, great to work with if you ever get stuck in the Mid West with a flat......and the wrong wheel.
Thanks again for the info and Happy Thanksgiving!

Stuff like this happens. My brother got a 16" spare on a Titanium while the other wheels were 15".
Who thinks to look at the spare?? You probably had it in your hands ready to put on when, as Johnny Cash sang, "...All the holes were gone..." on his one-piece-at-a-time Cadillac.

It's happened with us too, our 2653 didn't come with the spare tire kit, so the dealer added it on. For some reason unknown to us, they put a 14" tire/wheel combo on the bumper. We found this after having a flat, but fortunately the bolt pattern was still the same. We stopped at Stoltzfus and got a new wheel, but it had a different offset from the originals. Sunline saved the day by having an original leftover wheel of the correct size and offset.
Later on, we had a bearing issue which burned the paint on one of the other wheels. So the spare went on and we had to get another new wheel (fortunately with the correct offset), but it didn't quite look the same, so it stayed as the spare. The burned wheel was later repainted, and along with the 14" and a old roof refer vent cover now make up my little side table in my room .
