Just bought a Sunline

Hi, I am new to the group and live in South east Michigan. Last weekend I just got a new to me 1995 Sunline T1550. We pick it up at the end of the week. I grew up camping and I still camp. I have always camped in a pop up camper so this is my first travel trailer. I can not wait to get it home to be able to explore it more. I have been looking for a small travel trailer that would be easy for me to pull and set up. My pop up is a 1985 Colman that I love and will still be used depending on what type of camping I want to do. I am anxiously waiting to try out my new camper as soon as all this snow and mud disappear.

Thank you. I will probably have questions after I bring it home and start camping in it. I do have one question now. In the back it has an overhead cupboard that folds down, is that a bunk? There wasn't a cushion on it.

I also purchased a t1550 two months ago and will be picking it up next week.I'm not new to camping having had a 28 foot motorhome for 9 years and my last trailer was a 2000 22ft Mallard i bought brand new so i do have some experience .So to get back to your question ,that fold down cupboard at the back and the front one are considered bunks.
The caveat here is they are rated for children under 100lbs .I've had them in my motorhome and personaly i would not dare use them as bunks as you can imagine a child rolling it out of there and having to run to the emergency with a kid that has a broken arm or something .The little foam mattresses up there are good to put under the other beds for extra cushioning .Enjoy your trailer ,i think they're pretty neat little trailers.I'm just getting back into it and want to do a lot of travelling not so much staying in one spot and that has the best layout as you can leave the rear bed made up and still have your dinette to use when on the road .Saves a lot of rigging .I have not been able to find as usefull a layout in that light a trailer anywhere .

If its like my Jayco was it's a cupboard bunk. It had a 150 lb weight limit. We used ours for bedding storage but you could use a magic foam pad for mattress. If you look at top of page you'll see a tab called files. In there you can find brochures covering stats. on many models.

Hi JennyC,

Welcome to the Sunline Club. My wife, Nancy, and I also had a Coleman Sequoia pop-up which we enjoyed very much. When we traded it in 1992 for our first Sunline, the thing I remember most was our daughter saying that she could lean against a wall without thinking she might fall out of the trailer - which never did happen!
Again, welcome and enjoy.

Thank you everyone for the welcome and the information. I have been looking and dreaming of a little camper with a good layout and windows that actually open. This one fit the bill. New campers that are this size either do not have a good layout, not many windows, and may only sleep two people. You feel very closed in in those campers. We looked at this one on a cloudy day and it was nice and bright inside. We judge campers by wether my youngest daughter will walk in them. She has poor vision and some special needs If a camper has a dark interior even if the lights are on she will not walk in so we don't even look at them This one she was the first one in and loved it.

Picked up my camper today. My youngest wanted to sleep in it tonight but she has school tomorrow. She loves and keeps giving it hugs. This weekend would have been a great camping weekend. It is finally getting nice out.
