Just bought a new Sunline 5th Wheel!
I just signed a purchase agreement and left a deposit on a 2005 293SR fifth wheel out in Vermont. This specific coach was discussed at length in another post on the 5th wheel section of these forums.
http://www.tcsrvs.com/inventory_item.asp?id=569316
I got a great discount from the asking price and am picking it up later this week. After being sad for a couple years now since Sunline went under, I'm now so excited to be replacing my beloved 1999 T-2570 (for sale, BTW). This has been such a great coach for us but I've been wanting a 5'er for a long time now.
I look forward to posting pics and perhaps being at the next M&G!
Jeff

Jeff, when you get the "paperwork" don't forget to drop Sunline Fan a message with the details on the coach....he keeps a record of model, vin #'s interior colors etc......

Welcome to the world of Sunline fifth wheel ownership!!! Arn't they great? I'm glad to see that someone bought that coach.....I was getting mighty tempted. Mandy was sure that I was going to drag her all the way back up to New England to trade in the F-304SR. The floor plan in that F-293SR is awesome, congratulations.

More questions
The more I call the dealer with add'l questions that come to mind, the more I come up with new questions. Now, it's 2:30AM and I can't sleep because I'm wondering if the dinette table is bolted to the floor. Ditto for the recliners. My son is 4 and my daughter is 2, and they can share the couch bed for many years, but will eventually need their own place to sleep. I'm wondering if I could slide the table out of the way and put a bed mat down on the floor for my son to sleep on?
The right thing to do would have been to find a unit that sleeps more than 4 people. But, with the scarcity of Sunline 5'ers and this one being like new, I had to jump on the opportunity.
Also of interest, I'm seeing a lot if interest in my T-2570 which is suprising given the economy.

Hi Jeff,
I know for a fact that the recliners are not attached to the floor. If anything, there might be straps on the wall to hold them for travel, but then it may not have that even.
I'm also pretty sure the dinette is completely free-standing, and nothing is attached to the floor. I suppose if you really wanted, you could put the dinette by the back window and the chairs in the slide.

Congrats on the purchase. We were very interested in it ourselves, but could not get the right trade in on our T2753, otherwise we would have pulled the trigger on buying the unit ourselves.

Thanks you for putting me out of my misery…. . That coach is the same floor plan and color as our T310SR. And it was tempting…. I was hoping Kitty or Trailbazer would of moved on it so I could stop thinking about…. .
Now to the free standing table and chairs and the rear rockers. If Sunline built that one anything like mine, would think they would, neither are bolted to the floor. The table we put down and the chairs as well when we travel so it will not tip over. The chairs, the slide holds one in place, it ain’t going anywhere…. The one by the door, our has no strap.
When we took the grand kids camping they where still in the crib, we took a porta play pen and moved it in where the table was and one slept in there. Then took out one of the rockers and did a similar thing back there. That coach you have is a like a dance hall when you open both slides up…. It is over 8 feet of walk area clear…
Please when you get it post some more pics. That is one fine coach.
Good luck on you new camper. WOW she is a beauty.
John

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Very good to know that when we need to sleep more people, we can remove furniture and add air mattresses.
We sold out T-2570 today to the first people who came to see it. This goes to show you that maintaining your rig religiously pays off when you need it most.
I will most certainly post pics when I pick it up next Tuesday. Would have been sooner, but they did not have the superrails in stock for the Pullrite Superglide 18k hitch that I had thrown into the deal.
Jeff

Is this an unsold new trailer? It certainly looks new. We have thoroughly enjoyed our Sunline fifth wheel and have put lots of miles on it all throughout the Mid Atlantic and New England. Heavy for their size but sure seem well built. If you have the time, you can read some of my posts about maintenance and repairs that I have gone through with our Sunline, from replacing the bathroom sub floor due to a leak in the toilet flange gasket to repairing a black holding tank crack(why is it always something to do with poop?) If yours has shock absorbers( I think all Sunline fivers do) before you tow the trailer check and see if the shocks are installed properly. Ours were not, just hanging from the top bracket. Sunline sent me new ones, unfortunately one failed and damaged a new tire(Grrrrr!). Get down on one knee, take your hand and run it along the back side of your tires, feeling for the area where the shocks run alongside the tire. Is there adequate distance, is it even on all four tires? On ours it is not. Not sure why, yet. Suggestion, when you get the trailer home and have the time, I strongly suggest that you remove the wood screws that secure the toilet flange to the floor, throw them out and replace them with machine threaded stainless steel screws, washers and self locking nuts. Those ferrous wood screws do not hold well in OSB strandboard(I found out!) You got yourself a beautiful trailer there.

Yikes!
I'll be on the lookout for the toilet and shock issue. The dealer has assured me there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the unit and in the event I do find something, they will take care of it.
It has never been titled, but has been used a couple times by the owner of the dealership's family. So it's close to new, but 4+ years old now.
Mine does have shocks so I will add that to my checklist -- thank you. If anyone knows of a *great* pre-delivery checklist, let me know! Thanks,
Jeff

Fantastic fan?
One other thing I'm wondering and can't get an answer from the dealer on, does anyone know if these 5'ers ship standard with a Fantastic fan or something similar? That's one thing I swore I would have on my next coach, that I don't have now.
Maybe it's an easy install for them to do before I pick it up, if I can get the fan at a good price?

Ours came equipped with two Fantastic Fans(and they are indeed fantastic). One in the main living compartment and one in the bedroom. Therostacally controlled, with rain sensors(that work!). Probably the best quality, engineered product available on rv's. I have a vent fan in the bathroom that I intend to swap out for a basic Fantastic Fan, so much quieter and efficient.
