Hi Hornady,
Gray is right that too much lube can create a back off problem. But I have only had this issue on my bigger camper. Same stabilizer as on my smaller camper I had but the big one will unscrew the Bal jack with no problem. If I left them hard as can be to crack, then they would of held. But that was way to hard to crank.
Dry lube or grease lube. The dry lube does not have dirt stick so much which can be a positive thing.
I myself use the grease. Never had dirt issues but I do clean them off every year or so and relube. When the jack is totally up, the screw is pretty much covered which may be why I have not had any issues.
Both methods work. And like I said I never had issues on my T2499 with back off but do on the T310 big time. My gadget solved my issue and the jacks works real easy now.
Hope this helps
John
