Portable backup camera

I bought a backup camera at a yard sale for $15. The owner said he bought it for a fourty foot motorhome but it didn't work for him. I tried the camera and it worked on my motorhome but I wanted to be able to transfer the camera from one vehicle to teh other. Like to my car when pulling my utility trailer as well as the motorhome.

The monitor screen was already portable straight out of the box. It had a lighter plug and could go from vehicle to vehicle. This meant I needed the same lighter plug on the camera and a way to mount it to the back of the vehicles. The solution was a magnetic base from a CB antenna, the adjustable connection from a small camera stand and a way to fasten the video camera to this new mount which is a piece of pipe hanger strapping. Even so, as it is now the camera is portable from vehicle to vehicle by simply finding 12Volt plugs

Since teh back of my Ford Expedition is not metal the magnetic base does not work on the exterior as I had planned so I need to make a base with suction cups. Only time needed to do that.

I have also found a 12V cigeratte plug that plugs into 110V house current. I can use the camera monitor inside the house while the camera is mounted to the vehicle outside. A convenient security camera.

Thanks folks, I could have done this neater but I didn't know if I might sell the camera at a later date so I made the mount fit without modification. I also find the ability to use the camera as a outside monitor real handy. I've set the camera up in the car pointing to the front of the house and brought the monitor inside the house by the computer and I can see who/what comes up.

I've even hooked it up to visitors and neighbors vehicles. Neighbor has a pontoon that he has trouble hooking up. Nothing to it with the camera and it only takes two minutes to connect it.
