Installing a Pioneer Stereo!
I had a radar detector laying around that I traded off to a neighbor for a very nice 200 watt Pioneer Stereo System.
I got the radio about three days ago, spent a fortune running all over town looking for installation kits at the local auto supply stores etc, Walmart, nobody had one that would work.
I found some old l brackets that went to a piece of stereo rack equipment and decided to start there. I drilled some new holes in the brackets and cut some of the height off of them so they would fit under the counter above the drawer inside the cabinetry by the door.
I got some sheet metal screws from the local hardware store for about 50 cents and the brackets screwed right into place.
Next, I cut and framed some support pieces under the counter top to support and hold the radio in there nice and snug. I glued everything with liquid nails for wood and then used 1" wood screws to make it all solid.
Here are some pictures of the radio without the faceplate that's going in over the front of it. It will look really nice when finished!
Also, some pictures of the antenna I installed on the exterior near the door.
