Aluminum question???

Hello, new to the site and to a sunline. We just purchased a 02 sunline solaris. Trailer is in great shape, I am gonna wash it up good this weekend and plan on putting a good coat of wax on it so it doesnt end up like our last trailer looked(was all faded and streaked up when we got it) I have a porter cable polisher which I plan on using. 28 feet of camper is a lot of waxing by hand. Which wax do you guys recommend? Dealer we bought our camper from suggested a cleaner wax like mcguires cleaner wax? What are your suggestions? Also the siding on this trailer almost has a rubber feel to it. Much different than our old coachman did. Anyone know what this is????

the reason for the different siding is you have the crystal coat siding,it's supposed to be non waxable and less dent resistant, although I find it to dent just as easy as any other aluminum sided camper I have had, As for wax below is a link to the best and longest lasting wax I have ever used,it actually last a whole year.http://www.meguiars.com/?liquid-car-...ation-Tech-Wax I get the wax at walmart.

Hi Deerslayer,

First welcome to the group and Sunline ownership.

As Rich said, the Krystal Coat aluminum finish on your Sunline does not require waxing, but most of us wax it anyway.

I use Mequiars liquid or Protect All. WIth the slight texture to the siding, I would not want to use a paste wax.

Thanks guys I appreciate it! Havent had time to really do alot with the trailer since we got it because of my kitchen remodel I am doing, I looked at the back where there is a couple black streaks and they wiped right off with my finger, I was like WOW!!!! Still need to scrub it down real good and I think I am definatly giving it a wax job with my PC polisher just to make sure the streaks dont stick!!!
