A weighty question.

You know how there is always so much discussion on the various RV forums about the weigh of your TV and TT etc. Sunline does make a point of saying that they use precision scales in the factory for weighing the units and assuring of a balanced construction and so forth. Well I want to ask if the weigh sticker that Sunline puts into each trailer is the actual delivery weigh of the specific trailer in question with all the options? I guess I could call them and ask this too, but if any off you really know I'd appreciate a responce. Thanks!

I'm almost positive when we bought our sunline that the dealer(Stoltzfus Rv.) said each trailer is weighed individually

Thanks Rich,
I believe that's what I've heard too, but want to be sure. maybe it's best to just call them and ask.

Weigh in

The weight you are interested in is what YOUR trailer (and tow vehicle) weigh, singly and together. Many service stops such as Exxon have a scale out back for the truckers. You drive on, pull up to the box, ask for weigh-in and they do it. Cost is about $10 the last time I did one here in north Arkansas. The printout gives you weight on front, middle, rear and totals. That's what you need and that's how simple it is.

BTW, I'm new around here but been RVing a long time in everything from van to Class A.

You don't want to exceed total GCVW for a lot of reasons.

Divebmbr
Bob,

When I bought mine I was told that the sticker was the delivery dry weight with out any dealer add-ons.

I am getting ready to move and getting paid for the weight that I haul. I'll report back in about 3 weeks and let you know if it is close. I might have to estimate but tongue weight I can get.

I called Sunline yesterday. I spoke to Tom in their service dept because Larue was out for the day. He assured me the Sunline weight sticker on the interior of each unit was the actual dry weight of the trailer as delivered to the dealer. It is inclusive of all options, equipment, etc assembled at the factory in Denver. So Divebmbr, you were told correctly.

Hi VernM...I do appreciate your input too. I was actually interested in just the weight of the trailer at the moment, but surely I will be weighing all with the bigger picture in mind at some point in the future before I travel with it. Best regards.

Where is the weight sticker? Ive looked all over mine and have never been able to find it. I ended up weighing mine loaded anyway, but Id still like to know where the sticker is and how accurate it is.
